26th & 27th February 2010

Friday was spent just relaxing, watching TV, doing our washing in a proper front loading washing machine (which seem to be rather rare here) and checking out the shopping mall (very nice!). It was so nice to be in a home chilling rather than a hostel that we took full advantage and were very spoilt with superb barramundi for tea and quite a bit of wine.

Saturday morning was spent watching Wales make a complete hash of playing rugby, then when Tina came home from work we all hopped into the car, including Benji the dog and headed out to the coast.

Whilst the weather wasn’t too bad when we started off, we were soon in the middle of a tropical downpour, with reduced visibility. Tina assures us that the sea is normally lovely and blue, but today it was grey and the tide was out, but it was great to see some areas of Brisbane we hadn’t visited and when we got to Wellington Point the rain had eased enough for us to get out and have an ice-cream.

We enjoyed another lovely evening with seafood marinara expertly cooked by Paul.
